T minus six months

Well, the calendar says the baby will arrive six months from today. If this baby is going to be a real Reece, it had better be here on time. We Reeces are known for our punctuality! (and if you know the Reeces, you're laughing already.)

Actually, we are making efforts to ready ourselves (and our house) for Baby Reece. Phase 1 of Operation Fruit Basket Upset is almost finished. You see, we've decided that the best plan to make room for the baby is to rearrange almost all the rooms of our house. I spent most of Spring Break repainting the guest room in our house a lovely shade of shaved coconut. That's done, and now we are trying to squeeze our home office and ever-growing home library into that room as well. We will post pics as we go.

Phase 2 will be turning the current office/library into our bedroom. Those of you who have had the pleasure of seeing that room will remember that the walls of that room are what we affectionately refer to as (Parental Warning: PG-13 word ahead) lime-ass green. I am crossing my fingers and hoping that it will only take five or six coats of primer and paint to cover it up.

Once that's done, Phase 3 will be turning our current bedroom into the baby's room. Luckily we have the least work to do in that room. The walls are already a lovely shade of "gender non-specific" yellow, and we have a tree mural on one wall that our landlord left here for us.

So you see, that's all we have to do in the next six months! Oh yeah, I forgot. We also have to finish the school year and all its attached paperwork and meetings, teach summer school, work on grad school classes, make the summer pilgrimage to Iowa, teach more summer school, try to have a life, and keep on growing a super-cute Baby Reece! We will keep you updated on all the news in all our free time...

  1. You don't want to sleep in a lime-ass green room? Come on--that's the color that defined our senior year of high school!!! My whole family refers to lime-ass green because of US!

    Lame, I'm telling you. Lame.

    Love, me
